Foundation is Fully Operational
Foundation leaders have put together a talented team of staff to run the every day operations of the organization.
Frank Dunn, enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, will lead the Foundation’s communications efforts. Reuben Roqueñi, of mixed heritage rooted in Mexico including French, Spanish and Yaqui ancestry, has joined the team as Program Director. Tracey Pew is the Foundation’s Executive Assistant/Office Manager.
The Foundation has established offices in the Portland metropolitan area. The new Foundation offices are part of the 366-acre Fort Vancouver Historic Preserve where over a thousand years ago, tribal groups resided and traded up and down the Columbia River.
“The act of giving was part of the ‘gifting economy’ of the Northwest where one’s wealth was measured by generosity, good work and a good heart. That is the work of philanthropy too: It’s an honor to have plenty and to share. There is no lack when you have this process in place and the most important mindset to have while participating is gratitude, or giving thanks and promising to care for all, no matter what.”
