The Organized Village of Kake (OVK) collaborated with Mike A. Jackson, a local professional artist, in the design and creation of Tlingit style carved panels that depicted the families that still reside in their traditional territory.

Under the direction of professional artist, Mike A. Jackson, Tlingit style panels were carved and painted by students of the school district, and community members, who volunteered their time to learn the art and history of the locale. OVK also worked in partnership with the Kake School District in designated space in their shop. Thirty cedar panels were carved and are permanently installed at the City of Kake’s Community Hall Gym where the 100-year Kake Day Celebration took place in January of 2012.
