July:

The Midwest Culture Bearers Award
Deadline: July 29, 2024

The Midwest Culture Bearers Award honors and amplifies the work of nine Midwestern culture bearers each year. Each selected individual will receive a $5,000 unrestricted, non-matching award. Arts Midwest will create feature stories about each awardee and their work. Awardees can also join relationship-building activities, group conversations, and other opportunities for connection and discussion.

 

2025 BIPOC Arts Network & Fund (BANF) Artist Awards
Deadline: July 29, 2024

The BANF Artist Awards is a one-time investment of up to $20,000 each for 25 artists residing in Houston, Texas. These awards are for members of Greater Houston’s Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian American, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, and other communities of color. Award recipients will engage in an eighteen-month learning cohort designed to create space for dreaming and action, with the goal of transforming the BIPOC arts ecosystem.

August:

Yaddo
Deadline: August 1, 2024

Yaddo offers residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following disciplines: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Yaddo is located in Saratoga Springs, NY. The August 1 deadline is for residencies starting November of the same year through June of the following year. Applicants receive results by email in early October.

Fountainhead Residency
Deadline: August 4, 2024

This residency in Miami Florida seeks exceptional visual artists who are at a pivotal point in their career where connections and conversations are the catalyst needed to evolve their art practice. Open call applications will be accepted until 300 applications have been received.

First Peoples Fund
Deadline: August 5, 2024

The Artist in Business Leadership Fellowship is a yearlong program that helps independent Native artists pursue art as a way to build a business to support themselves and their families. The program provides them with network-building, professional development guidance and funding towards business needs. The Cultural Capital (CC) Fellowship is a yearlong program that offers financial support and guidance to culture bearers and artists who are deeply rooted in their communities and committed to passing on ancestral knowledge within their Native communities.

The 2024 Southeastern Art Show and Market (SEASAM)
Deadline: August 12, 2024

The 2024 Southeastern Art Show and Market (SEASAM) and SEASAM Youth call for artists is now open! Adult and youth artists from federally recognized Southeastern tribes may apply to compete for cash prizes. The adult application deadline is Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. and the youth deadline is Sept. 20 at 4:30 p.m. SEASAM will take place Oct. 4-5 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Chicago Dancemakers Forum 2024 Lab Artists Program
Deadline: August 12, 2024

This program provides chosen candidates with a $25K grant and a year of tailored support. The selection process prioritizes dancemakers recognized as having been historically underrepresented in the program: Indigenous, Immigrant, Trans and Non-Binary, Parent/Caregiver, and Disabled Artists. Applicants must be living in the Chicagoland region which expands from southern Wisconsin to western Indiana.

Dance/USA Fellowships to Artists (DFA)
Deadline: August 15, 2024

DFA is a national Fellowship program that offers unrestricted financial awards to individual dance and movement-based artists who work at the intersection of embodied and social practices. DFA will award $31,000 to at least 25 individual artists, to be used at their own discretion. Artists are invited to submit an initial application by Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 6:00pm ET. Application support and coaching are available. Artists are encouraged to review the program overview and guidelines and submit an initial application.

Quinn Emanuel Los Angeles Artists-in-Residence Program
Deadline: August 19, 2024

This residency is open to emerging and mid-career artists working in all disciplines across Greater Los Angeles. For four months the artist-in-residence will be given a studio in the Quinn Emanuel Los Angeles office to support their existing practice or a new project as appropriate.

Willapa Bay AiR located in Oysterville, WA
Deadline: August 31, 2024

The program offers month-long, self-directed residencies to emerging and established artists, filmmakers, writers, playwrights, scholars, singer/songwriters, and musical composers. $30 fee to apply.

September:

True/ False Film Fest Artist Residency Program
Deadline: September 1, 2024

True/False is seeking original large-scale installations, projections, and performance works that have the flexibility to be modified to function in a variety of locations and unconventional venues within the theme “The Human Paradox.” Aimed at emerging and mid-career artists, this five-week virtual residency will culminate in an in-person exhibition of work at the 2024 True/False Film Festival. True/False is looking for emerging and mid-career artists and encourages applications from artists who may identify as underrepresented in the traditional art world (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and parents/caregivers).

Center for Cultural Innovation – Investing in Artists
Deadline: September 4, 2024

The Investing in Artists: Tools & Equipment program (the “T&E Fund”) will award grants of $1,000–$5,000 to individual craft artists to purchase artistic tools, materials, or equipment that support their ability to make object-based work. The T&E Fund is open to individual craft artists, craftspeople, and folk and traditional artists in the United States and its Territories, with geographic eligibility rotating over the 2024–2026 funding cycle.

Adam Kolton Alaska Storytelling Grant Award

Deadline: September 5, 2024

The Storytelling Grant is a merit-based, unrestricted award of $20,000 to a practicing professional storyteller of exceptional talent and ability who has experience living in Alaska and who tells a uniquely Alaskan story.

MacDowell Residency
Deadline: September 10, 2024

This spring and summer residency offers a studio, accommodations, and three meals a day for up to six weeks. There are no residency fees, and financial assistance is offered to reimburse the costs of travel, rent, lost income, and childcare. The residency is open to artists of all backgrounds and all countries in the following disciplines: architecture, film/video arts, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theater, and visual arts.

Princeton Arts Fellowship
Deadline: September 10, 2024

This fellowship is awarded to artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching. Applicants should be early career visual artists, filmmakers, poets, novelists, playwrights, designers, directors and performance artists who would find it beneficial to spend two years teaching and working in an artistically vibrant university community. A $90,000 a year stipend is provided. The current application cycle is open to applicants in Writing, Theater, and Visual Arts.

Hambidge Center Residency
Deadline: September 15, 2024

In the mountains of north Georgia, each resident is given their own private studio which provides work and living space with a bathroom and full kitchen. Residencies span from two to eight weeks. Disciplines include: Arts & Culture Administration, Ceramics, Culinary Arts, Dance, Music, Science, Visual Arts, Writing, and Multidisciplinary practices. $30 fee to apply.

McColl Center Summer 2025 Parent + Educator Artists-in-Residence
Deadline: September 25, 2024

This residency is offered to parents and educators who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate in McColl Center residency because of their responsibilities during school/university periods. This residency will support their practices, give you the chance to bring your family with you, use the facilities, and equipment offered by the Center on our Labs. Residents enjoy private housing, a large-scale studio, guidance, marketing support, and a stipend. Access to shared labs: 3D, ceramics, media, and woodshop. The program runs from June 3 – August 11, 2025.

Hayama Artist Residency, Japan
Deadline: September 30, 2024

The residency offers a roundtrip flight to Japan, shared accommodations with one other artist-in-residence for 4 weeks, and a weekly allotment of $200 USD for meals and local transportation. Residency also includes an exhibition in Tokyo. Open to visual artists over 21 years old, working in any medium. $95 Application fee. Residency dates: June 1-30, 2025.
