Join us for "Matrilineal Memory," a solo exhibition by 2023 LIFT artist Mikaela Shafer (Hopi, Coyote Clan) (@mama0mouse) at the Center for Native Arts & Cultures in Portland!

This exhibition is an immersive exploration of memory and emotion featuring paintings, poetry, and installations that delve into the depths of Shafer’s Hopi heritage. Through Shafer’s innovative use of collagraph, dyeing, sewing, and layering techniques, she infuses her artworks with rich textures and intricate patterns, often incorporating a mix of organic materials.

"The History & Future of Yéil Koowú, Ravenstail Weaving," dreamt up by NACF artist Wooshkindein Da.áat Lily Hope @lilyhopeweaver, will feature a free and open to the public Weavers' Gathering from 11 AM - 3 PM, followed by a ticketed event from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

We're honored to have offered our kitchen to Chef Ramon Shiloh (Mvskoke, Cherokee, Filipino, and African-Black) and PRISMID Sanctuary for a tasting menu gathering earlier this month.

Chef Ramon's menu was a curated journey through conversation, food - prepared with foraged ingredients - and Black & Indigenous world views.
