From Indigenous Peoples Day to Native American Heritage Month, this is a busy time for Native-led organizations â and Native Arts and Cultures Foundation (NACF) is no different.
NACF took on an ambitious new project, publishing our first literary anthology from selected National Artist Literature Fellows. We celebrated the new release of The Larger Voice: Celebrating the Work of Native Arts and Cultures Foundation Literature Fellows with a poetry reading by the literature fellows at Portland Art Museum, and we also presented a panel at the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums conference this year.
Reuben Roqueñi, Director of Transformative Change Programs and Robert Franklin, Media and Communications Specialist went to New York to connect with 2022 LIFT Awardee MobĂ©y Lola Irizarry (Puerto Rican, Citizen of Chickasaw Nation), and Emily Johnson (Yupâik), a 2021 SHIFT Awardee.
We welcomed three more new staff members to NACF: Lovi Woods, Amber Ball and Mandy Yeahpau!
‘Tis the season for end-of-year giving, and we are happy to have been selected to participate in the Give!Guide, a regional effort to raise funds for the good works of local nonprofits. This is a generous opportunity for us to receive matching funds for donations made through the end of the year, thanks to Arnerich Massena and Vision Capital Management.
